Kenya is set to deepen its digital skills partnership with Huawei Technologies Kenya, following the completion of advanced ICT training by 65 TVET lecturers. The government plans to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei to enhance ICT talent development across the nation.

65 TVET lecturers completed a 15-day training in Artificial Intelligence, Data Communication, Cloud technologies, and Cybersecurity.
Joseph Kanyi, Director of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), announced that seven lecturers will be deployed to the Academy Support Centre in China, and 55 trainers will operationalize Huawei ICT Academies.
The partnership, ongoing since 2021, has established 11 Huawei ICT Academies and aims to expand to 150 TVET institutions, targeting 10,000 beneficiaries over the next three years.
