Kenya Power has announced a new all-time peak in electricity demand, reaching 2,439.06MW on December 4. This surge is attributed to increased customer connections and a rise in industrial and household electricity usage across the country.
- The new peak surpasses the previous record of 2,418.77MW set on November 18.
- Managing Director and CEO Dr (Eng.) Joseph Siror stated that industrial customers accounted for more than half of unit sales in the year to June 2025.
- Kenya Power connected 401,848 new customers and reduced system losses from 23.16 percent to 21.21 percent in the year ended June 2025.
