Kenya Power has announced a new all-time peak in electricity demand, reaching 2,439.06MW on December 4. This surge is attributed to increased customer connections and a rise in industrial and household electricity usage across the country.

The new peak surpasses the previous record of 2,418.77MW set on November 18.
Managing Director and CEO Dr (Eng.) Joseph Siror stated that industrial customers accounted for more than half of unit sales in the year to June 2025.
Kenya Power connected 401,848 new customers and reduced system losses from 23.16 percent to 21.21 percent in the year ended June 2025.
