Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) announced that strong hydropower output from its Seven Forks hydro cascade will stabilize electricity supply for Kenyan households and businesses through the festive season and into the new year. This robust generation of low-cost renewable electricity is expected to ease pressure on power bills amidst volatile global energy prices.

• KenGen's Seven Forks hydro cascade generated 473.14 MW as of December 8, out of an installed capacity of 600.4 MW.
• Managing Director Peter Njenga stated that healthy reservoir levels, including Masinga Dam at 1,054.49 meters (just below its maximum of 1,056.50 meters), indicate sustained generation capacity.
• The stable hydropower output allows KenGen to reduce reliance on more expensive thermal power, protecting consumers and businesses from price shocks and ensuring energy security.
