Thika Superhighway . - A significant project is the Nairobi-Nakuru-Mau Summit Expressway, launched on November 28, 2025, covering 175 kilometres, with an additional 58 kilometres for the Nairobi-Mai Mahiu-Naivasha Road.
- The Isiolo-Mandera Highway, a 750-kilometre project, received initial funding of Ksh81 billion from the World Bank's International Development Association.
- Other projects include the Kakamega Airstrip–Shinyalu–Chepsonoi Road upgrade and the recently completed Ksh1.3 billion, 19km Rusinga Ring Road by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).

During the 62nd Jamhuri Day Celebrations, President William Ruto announced several major infrastructure projects. He revealed plans to construct a new 60-kilometre expressway connecting Nairobi City to Thika town in Kiambu County, with construction set to begin in 2026. This project is intended to complement the existing Thika road and alleviate severe traffic congestion. The President also announced plans for another new expressway to connect Thika to Museum Hill in Nairobi. In addition, Ruto announced a major rehabilitation and beautification project for the Mombasa Road–Uhuru Highway corridor, stretching from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to ABC Place in Westlands, with work scheduled to start in December and be completed by January.
