In the wake of former Cabinet Minister and Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo’s death in a tragic road accident, National Treasury Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo has urged motorists to exercise caution on Kenyan roads, particularly during the festive season.

• Jirongo died on Saturday after his vehicle collided head-on with a Busia-bound Climax bus on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway near Karai, Naivasha.
• PS Kiptoo emphasized the need for drivers to prioritize safety and observe traffic rules to prevent road accidents, which often spike during the holiday period due to speeding and reckless driving.
• Several passengers on the bus were also injured and transported to nearby hospitals in Naivasha for treatment.
