The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi (AKUH, N) has achieved its fifth successive accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), solidifying its reputation as a leading institution for quality and patient safety in the region. This reaffirmation follows an intensive on-site survey in November 2023.

• Achieved a score of 98.4 per cent against 268 standards and nearly 1,200 measurable elements.
• AKUH, N was the first hospital in East Africa to receive JCI accreditation in 2013.
• CEO Rashid Khalani stated this accreditation benchmarks their care with the best hospitals globally.
• The hospital also holds JCI Centre of Excellence certifications for heart attack (reaccredited 2023) and acute primary stroke management (reaccredited July 2024).
