The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA), in a multi-agency operation, seized thousands of bottles of illicit alcohol and arrested two suspects in Mai Mahiu and Kijabe towns. This action followed concerns from local residents about the sale of illegal alcoholic products.

2,526 plastic bottles, each containing 200 millilitres of suspected smuggled Ugandan alcohol, were recovered.
NACADA enforcement officers and the National Police Service conducted the operation.
The crackdown is part of ongoing festive season enforcement aimed at curbing illicit alcohol, which poses serious health and safety risks.
