Kenya's Ministry of Health has ordered new investigations into Sisto Mazzoldi Hospital following an NTV exposé alleging fraudulent insurance claims. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale directed the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) to immediately investigate the new claims, with strong disciplinary action promised if malpractice is confirmed.

• The hospital is already under active investigation by the Social Health Authority (SHA) for alleged inaccurate and fraudulent claims and has been suspended from offering services under the insurance scheme.
• KMPDC previously downgraded Sisto Mazzoldi Hospital from a Level 4 hospital to a Level 3 after an audit of its capacity and services.
• The NTV report specifically alleged that the hospital used staff members’ insurance details to fraudulently claim government funds, with proceeds reportedly shared between the hospital and staff.
