The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has secured court orders blocking the National Youth Service (NYS) from paying Ksh.6.16 billion to several companies. This payment was sought for alleged fictitious contracts and goods that were never supplied to NYS.
- On December 8, 2025, Lady Justice Lucy Njuguna issued interim orders temporarily restraining the payment of Ksh.6,167,797,655.
- The payments were claimed by companies associated with Ben Gethi Wangui, Elizabeth Wangeci Ngugi, and Susan Nyambura Mburu, among others, including Schoolwork Enterprises and Newtool Mart Trading.
- Investigations revealed that NYS officials colluded with the companies to falsify procurement documents, including 277 Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), some of which were counterfeit or traced to other government institutions.
