During the National Annual Farmers’ End-Year Celebration and Awards in Kericho, Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs Development Wycliffe Oparanya announced that milk farmers would receive pending payments during the Christmas week. This initiative aims to boost farmer liquidity and support the dairy sector.
- The government will inject Ksh3.5 billion to upgrade 19 tea factories across Kenya, with new reforms ensuring timely remuneration for smallholder tea farmers.
- The Principal Secretary in the State Department for Agriculture Dr. Kiprono Rono revealed that each tea factory will now operate its own bank account to improve financial accountability.
