The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is developing a new decade-long strategic framework to transform agrifood systems in the Horn of Africa, replacing an earlier plan. This initiative comes as the region faces severe challenges from recurrent droughts and food insecurity.
- The new framework is titled the Regional Agrifood Systems Investment Plan (RASIP) 2026–2035.
- IGAD is the key organization validating the plan.
- The plan replaces the previous Regional Agricultural Investment Plan (RAIP) 2016–2020.
