The DCI Homicide Investigations Unit has unmasked the killer of Millicent Mwangi, a sixty-year-old woman from Nyandarua County, identifying her own son as the prime suspect. The suspect led detectives to unearth critical evidence after a scene enactment.

• Detectives recovered a machete believed to be the murder weapon, a bedsheet, and a blanket from the Malewa River.
• The suspect was arrested on November 20, 2025, and is scheduled for mention on January 19, 2026.
• The victim's torso was discovered on November 14 along the Malewa–Kipipiri road, three days after she was reported missing from Mwireri village.
• There have been 1,011 homicide cases according to the DCI, and 3,015 cases related to manslaughter and infanticide according to the National Police Service, with females aged 18–35 facing the highest risk.
