After a year-long stall due to lack of funding, construction has resumed on Kenya's Sh2.4 billion maritime survival training and certification centre at the Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) in Mombasa County.

- The expansion works restarted after the government released some funds, following a previous financial year with no allocation.
