A 40-year-old woman has been arrested in Kirinyaga County following the fatal stabbing of her 52-year-old lover on Christmas Day during a dispute at a bar in Muragara Trading Centre, Ndia Sub-County.

• The argument reportedly escalated over a Ksh.60 alcohol bill, leading to the victim, Peter Mwangi Wanyeki, being stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife.
• Detectives tracked down and apprehended the suspect, Edith Muthoni, at her hideout in Kandegwa village.
• The Kirinyaga West (Ndia) Sub-County Police Commander, Jos Mudavadi, confirmed the arrest, stating investigations are ongoing and the suspect is held at Baricho Police Station.
• An eyewitness, Florence Mureithi, stated she had been using the knife for food preparation before the suspect grabbed it.
