The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Nairobi and several other counties, with moderate to heavy rains expected from Friday afternoon until the early hours of December 30.

• Rainfall amounts could exceed 30 millimetres in some areas on December 28 and 29.
• The alert was issued by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry through the State Department for Environment and Climate Change.
• Residents in affected areas, including Nairobi, Migori, and Makueni, are advised to take precautionary measures against potential flooding and disrupted transport.
