In 2025, several Kenyans received significant global recognition for their accomplishments across various fields, from social justice to athletics and education.
- Kennedy Odede, founder of SHOFCO, became the first Kenyan man to win the Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize in July, awarded at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York.
- Middle-distance runner Emmanuel Wanyonyi was named World Athletics Male Track Athlete of the Year in December following a successful season.
- Jepkosgei Chemoiwa, a Mathematics and Physics teacher from Baringo County, earned UNESCO's International Institute for Capacity Building award as the best teacher in Africa in September for pioneering online learning initiatives.
