The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has issued a warning to Kenyans regarding counterfeit breast cancer medication, specifically fake versions of IBRANCE, circulating globally. These falsified drugs contain no active ingredients and pose a significant risk to patients.

• Nine batches of the counterfeit medicine have been identified worldwide, confirmed to have zero active ingredients.
• The alert was released on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, by Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed I. Mohamed.
• Counterfeit drugs exhibit identifying features like spelling mistakes, poor-quality printing, and unusual capsule colors, such as bright orange, which are not found in genuine products.
