The Kenya Navy has been granted authority by the High Court to manage the private vessel MV Igor, also known as “Mashaallah,” after a preservation order restricted all dealings with the ship. The vessel, currently in custody at the Kenya Navy base in Mtongwe, Mombasa, was seized after an application by the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) under the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act (POCAMLA).
- The vessel, with no registered owner, was seized on October 20, 2025, and will be safeguarded by the Kenya Navy.
- The order was issued by Deputy Registrar Evelyn Gaithuma of the High Court Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Division on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
- The Director General of the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) has also been directed to restrict the vessel's movement.
