Kenya is set to roll out its first locally manufactured vaccine by 2027, a key milestone announced by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale following a review with the Kenya BioVax Institute.

• The first trial batch of the vaccine is scheduled for release by the end of 202_.
• The project's initial phase, fully financed by the government, is complete, with the second phase focusing on systems integration and equipment installation for vaccine production.
• Kenya has achieved World Health Organisation (WHO) Maturity Level 3, enhancing its regulatory standing and positioning it as a potential regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
