The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) conducted a multi-agency raid in Kapsabet town, seizing illicit alcohol worth millions of shillings. This operation targeted suspected counterfeit alcohol outlets amidst concerns over public health.

• One suspect was arrested, while another, believed to be the main distributor, escaped, but is known to authorities for similar past offenses.
• The seized alcohol, including smuggled Ugandan-manufactured brews and suspected counterfeit branded spirits, was taken to Kapsabet Police Station for analysis.
• Dr. Anthony Omerikwa, NACADA Chief Executive Officer, stated that asset recovery proceedings would be initiated against those involved in the illicit trade, particularly in Nandi County, an area significantly affected by toxic alcohol.
