The ninth leg of the Sunshine Development Tour-East Africa Swing (SDT-EAS) concluded with Windsor’s Njoroge Kibugu maintaining his lead in the Order of Merit heading into the Grand Finale. The upcoming finale will feature a two-horse race between Kibugu and Rwanda’s Celestin Nsanzuwera for the top spot.
- Njoroge Kibugu finished second at the Thika Greens Golf Resort with four-under-par 209, extending his Order of Merit lead to 1287 points.
- Uganda’s Willy Deus won the Thika Greens leg, carding five-under-par 208 for his first regional circuit victory.
- Absa Bank Kenya invested Ksh 7 million to support the ninth and tenth legs of the series, attracting 82 players from across Africa.
- The Grand Finale begins on Monday at the Karen Golf and Country Club, where the top 30 East African players will be selected to compete for Sunshine Tour cards in South Africa.
