The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested two individuals, including a primary school teacher, for their involvement in creating and distributing fake 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) result slips. The suspects, operating under the alias “G.O.A.T.”, preyed on desperate parents and candidates online by promising to alter KCSE results for a fee.

• Two suspects apprehended in Kisumu and Ongata Rongai with assistance from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
• The teacher, believed to be the architect, used a large social media following of 45,200 followers to lure victims.
• The DCI recovered images of fake result slips from their mobile devices and warned parents about the tamper-proof nature of genuine KCSE results.
• Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba released the official 2025 KCSE results on Friday, January 9, with 993,000 candidates having sat the examination.
