The National Intelligence Research University College (NIRU) has launched its Pre-Hackathon Mentorship Workshop, a crucial step in preparing for the NIRU Hackathon 2026. This two-day programme aims to refine innovative AI solutions for national development and security.

185 teams were selected for the mentorship program from over 2,474 submissions nationwide.
The program was officiated by Principal Secretary for the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation, Professor Shaukat Abdulrazak.
The hackathon model focuses on Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to ensure ideas translate into deployable solutions aligned with Kenya Vision 2030 and other national priorities.
