The Kenyan government will deploy police and the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to secure the ongoing construction of the 740km Isiolo–Mandera road project. This move aims to ensure the timely completion of the Ksh100 billion project, initiated by President William Ruto and launched on Friday, February 7, 2025.
- The World Bank's International Development Association disbursed an initial Ksh81 billion for the project.
- Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen assured that additional security will protect the project from "enemies" and other security threats.
