Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya has apprehended seven suspects and recovered over 150 mobile phones, along with 16 tablets and six laptops, in an operation targeting a cross-border mobile phone theft syndicate in Nairobi.

• A Ugandan national was arrested in Shauri Moyo with 75 mobile phones and two laptops, believed to be a crucial link between Kenyan receivers and Ugandan buyers.
• Further arrests were made in Nairobi's city centre, Kangemi Bus Station for facilitating transport, and additional recoveries in Ngumba and Thome estates.
• Another suspect was caught in the Industrial Area with eight mobile phones and a laptop, some tampered with.
• Police have already identified one rightful owner from Ngando, Dagoretti, whose phone was stolen while she was working at a local market.
