A multi-agency security team has been deployed to Hulugho, Garissa County, following a deadly attack that resulted in the deaths of a local chief and a teacher. The area has been secured, and operations are underway to apprehend those responsible for the incident.

• The assailants invaded the chief's residence, shooting him, and detonated an explosive on his vehicle, before killing the teacher at his home.
• Police spokesman Muchiri Nyaga confirmed security agencies are actively pursuing the perpetrators and have heightened patrols.
• The attackers also opened fire on Hulugho Police Station with AK-47 rifles and a rocket-propelled grenade, though no injuries were reported there.
• Hulugho, near the Kenya–Somalia border, is frequently targeted by al-Shabaab militants.
