The National Research Fund (NRF) has announced the opening of its Postgraduate Research Grant for the 2025/2026 financial year, targeting postgraduate students in public and private Kenyan universities to bolster science, technology, and innovation.

• Successful doctoral research projects can receive up to Ksh2 million over three years, while Master’s projects are eligible for up to Ksh500,000 for one year.
• Applications are open to Kenyan citizens registered in recognised universities, focusing on research aligned with national development priorities and the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
• The submission deadline for research proposals is March 6, 2026, at 11:59pm, with applications strictly online via the NRF Grants Management System.
