- Wahome stated on Tuesday, January 27, that the C+ cut-off is "no longer sustainable" as the education system shifts towards recognizing hands-on skills and alternative pathways.
- This comes after many candidates in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations did not achieve the minimum entry grade.
- However, Education CS Julius Ogamba dismissed claims of a revised entry grade, insisting the minimum remains Grade C+, with the transition to CBE estimated to take two years.
