Detectives in Nairobi have arrested two suspects and recovered over 900 stolen mobile phones as part of a crackdown on an inter-country phone theft syndicate. The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation along Charles Rubia Street.

• More than 900 stolen mobile phones were recovered, intercepted in two packages bound for Uganda.
• The arrests were made by officers from Nairobi Central Sub-County, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
• The suspects, Brian Yomasia and Stephen Okwachi Shisia, are believed to be part of a larger syndicate targeting the public and retail outlets, trafficking devices to neighboring countries.
