The fake quote surfaced after a teargas incident at St Peter’s ACK Church in Othaya, Nyeri County, on Sunday, January 25, 2026, which Gachagua attended.

• The NPS confirmed no injuries were reported from the church incident and directed the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) to investigate.
