A recent Ipsos survey reveals that radio remains Kenya’s most consumed media platform, reaching an average of 33 million listeners. While traditional stations still dominate, new entrants like Radio 47 are rapidly gaining market share, creating a competitive landscape.

Radio Citizen leads in terms of reach with 9.1% and audience share with 17.0%.
Newcomer Radio 47 secured 3.7% reach and a significant 9.0% audience share, showcasing its rapid growth.
Kameme Radio, a vernacular station, achieved a 2.6% reach and 5.7% audience share, highlighting the strong performance of regional stations.
Radio listenership is significantly higher in rural areas (65.4%) compared to urban centers (34.6%), with Central Kenya having the highest regional share at 18.4%.
