The Kenyan government has launched German language training at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) to prepare its workforce for global employment opportunities, particularly in Europe. This initiative is part of the Kenya–Germany Comprehensive Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement, signed in September 2024.

Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu highlighted opportunities in high-demand sectors like engineering, IT, nursing, and construction.
Meru University has been designated an Overseas Skilled Worker (OSD) examination centre.
The program, supported by the Kazi Majuu programme, benefits learners from at least six neighbouring counties including Embu and Tharaka Nithi.
The initiative emphasizes ethical recruitment and the inclusion of youth and women.
