The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has endorsed the Kenyan government's initiative to reform the Postal Corporation of Kenya, with newly elected Secretary General Benson Okwaro emphasizing the reform must protect workers' welfare and preserve the institution's role as a vital national service.

• Okwaro stressed that modernization efforts must not compromise workers' rights, especially long-outstanding pension obligations.
• The CWU represents employees across broadcasting, telecommunications, postal, courier services, call centres, and the digital economy.
• Okwaro also raised concerns about other public communication institutions like Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and Telkom Kenya, calling for urgent reforms and investment.
