✨ Key Highlights

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is slated for a significant upgrade in ground safety and communication through a series of high-value procurements by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA). This extensive overhaul aims to modernize surveillance, radio, power, and airspace management systems across Kenya’s aviation network.

The central procurement is an Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) for JKIA, designed to enhance ground movement monitoring.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority is inviting bids for new Very High Frequency (VHF) radio equipment for JKIA and regional airports, including Moi International Airport and Malindi Airport.
Additional upgrades include a Voice Communication and Control System (VCCS) in Eldoret and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems at Wajir Airport to ensure operational continuity.
