The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) held a potentially tense National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Mombasa, which was anticipated to address the discipline or expulsion of senior party officials. Following the meeting, the ODM National Executive Committee removed Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna from his position as party Secretary General. The party cited indiscipline and violations of party protocol as the reason for his removal. Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo was appointed to act as the interim Secretary General.
