The Isiolo South parliamentary by-election has candidates intensifying their campaigns ahead of the vote. The seat became vacant following the death of former MP Mohamed Tubi Bidu on November 12, 2025, and features family members vying for the position.

• Three candidates—Tubi Mohamed Tubi (UDA), Bina Mohamed Tubi (Jubilee Party), and Isack Abduba Fayo (National Economic Development Party)—were cleared by the IEBC between January 22 and January 23, 2026.
• Tubi Mohamed Tubi, the late MP’s son, is supported by various clans, former officials of the Borana Council of Elders (BCE), Governor Abdi Guyo, Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya, and senior national government officials including Petroleum PS Mohamed Liban.
• Bina Mohamed Tubi, the late MP's daughter, is running a door-to-door campaign, emphasizing her grassroots community work with the Kinna Integrated Community Based Initiative (Kicbi), which predates her father's political career.
• Isack Abduba Fayo, a former Kinna ward MCA and Majority Leader at the Isiolo County Assembly from 2017 to 2022, plans to team up with political heavyweights like NEDP leader Mike Sonko in the coming days.
