The Council of Governors (CoG) has escalated its dispute with the Senate by formally accusing four senators of extortion and demanding their removal from the Senate County Public Accounts Committee (CPAC). The CoG stated that governors will boycott appearances before the CPAC until these senators are removed.

• CoG Chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi alleged the four unnamed senators engaged in extortion, political witch-hunts, intimidation, and harassment of governors.
• The letter was signed by 40 governors, though some signatures appeared to be copied.
• Governors Abdulswamad Nassir, Jonathan Bii, Julius Malombe, Wavinya Ndeti, Kimani Wamatangi, Jeremiah Lomorukai, Patrick Ntutu, and James Orengo did not sign the statement.
• Senate Speaker Amason Kingi urged the CoG to address concerns through institutional channels, while Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot and Senator Kajwang dismissed the boycott, demanding evidence of misconduct.
• Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Kitui Senator Enock Wambua emphasized that accountability is individual and warned of consequences for non-appearance.
