The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has announced tenders for upgrading 10 roads to Bitumen standards across five counties. This initiative, funded under the GoK Development Vote, complements broader government efforts to enhance Kenya's road infrastructure.
- KeRRA's tender for upgrading 10 roads opened for bidding from February 19 to March 6.
- The roads are located in Kisii, Nyamira, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Taita Taveta counties.
- The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is also commencing a 147Km dual carriageway from Marua to Isiolo junction, and will recarpet the 70 Km Rumuruti Nanyuki road.
- KeNHA's chairperson, Winfrida Wanjiku, stated that 5000 Km of road have been mapped for dualling and a program to rehabilitate 28,000 Km of road nationwide is underway.
