Kenyan athletes participating in the Sirikwa Classic World Cross Country Tour in Eldoret received financial literacy training from Absa Bank Kenya to secure their post-career futures. The initiative, emphasized by athletes like Boaz Kipkemei and Fredrick Bii, aims to equip them with essential money management and investment skills.

Over 3,000 athletes competed at the Sirikwa Classic, alongside the financial workshop.
The workshop, held at the Complete Sports Athletics Training Centre in Kaptagat, focused on investment in properties and shares.
Absa Bank Kenya's Head of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Charles Wokabi, stated the program addresses the short career span of athletes and their need for sustainable livelihoods.
The initiative also included discussions on climate change and tree planting, as highlighted by Lagos Marathon champion Edwin Koech.
Outside of sports, Absa Kenya Foundation donated a 10,000-litre water tank to Jasho Primary School in Kapsaret and planted fruit trees for improved sanitation and environmental conservation.
