The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has activated contingency measures following a planned strike by the Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU), aiming to ensure continuous air traffic operations despite the industrial action.

• The strike, initially scheduled to begin today, was temporarily blocked by the Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC).
• Director General Emile Arao stated that KCAA will maintain critical aviation safety and air navigation protocols.
• The ELRC issued interim orders preventing the strike until the case is heard and determined on February 26.
