Nairobi County has introduced new service desks at selected Huduma Centres in Eastleigh, Kibra, and Makadara, aiming to make government services more accessible for residents. This move, confirmed on Tuesday, February 17, addresses long-standing frustrations with accessing county services.

• These centres now offer a wide range of services, including land rates processing, county parking fee payments, business permit applications and renewals, and city planning and development inquiries.
• The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to bring government functions closer to citizens, building on the decentralization efforts started under the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), which operated from February 25, 2020, to September 2022.
• Beyond county services, selected Huduma Centres also provide Judiciary services, such as e-filing support and fine payments, first introduced in early 2024.
