Nairobi residents are facing a 24-hour water supply interruption as Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) temporarily shuts down the Sasumua Water Treatment Plant. This planned shutdown, announced on Thursday, February 18, is for essential maintenance work to improve production efficiency.
- The interruption will last from 6am on February 20 to 6am on February 21.
- Acting Managing Director Martin Ngarilo urged affected customers to use available water sparingly and store sufficient quantities.
- Numerous areas will be affected, including Westlands, Lavington, Kileleshwa, Kilimani, Dagoretti, Kawangware, Waithaka, Uthiru, Mutuini, Jamhuri, Upper Hill, Kibera, Langata, Nairobi West, Madaraka, Karen, and diplomatic neighborhoods like Gigiri.
