Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata will be taking a one-month break from physical duties after sustaining a heel tendon injury. The injury occurred when he tripped at a Nutrition International meeting in Nairobi.

• Governor Kang’ata will continue to chair official meetings virtually.
• Deputy Governor Stephen Munania will represent him in events requiring physical presence.
• The Canadian government-supported Nutrition International organization partners with Murang’a on public health programs.
