The 57th Magical Kenya Open (MKO) teed off at Karen Golf and Country Club in Nairobi, with Njoroge Kibugu leading Kenya's 18-player squad in pursuit of the Sh62 million top prize and a share of the total Sh348 million (USD2.7 million) purse.

• A total of 144 players from over 30 countries are competing in the tournament.
• Kenya's squad includes 12 professionals and 6 amateurs, with brothers Samuel Njoroge and C. J Wangai also competing.
• The field is described as the strongest ever, featuring defending champion Jacques Kruyswijk from South Africa and five former champions.
