Dr. Festus Ngeno, Principal Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, has lauded the significant progress in the Mau Forest restoration programme, particularly through the community-driven Trees Establishment and Livelihood Improvement Scheme (TELIS) at Gacharage Forest Block in Kuresoi North Sub-County, Nakuru County.

800 plots, each measuring half an acre, have been allocated to farmers as part of the reforestation efforts.
The Kenya Forest Service has approved the inclusion of Marindas Beat into the TELIS programme.
The initiative is a collaboration between communities from villages such as Gacharage, government leadership, and conservation partners, showcasing inclusive environmental stewardship.
