The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has unveiled a 20-year master plan, dubbed JKIA Master Plan (2025-2045), to transform Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) into a world-class aviation hub.

• The plan aims to increase JKIA's annual passenger handling capacity from 7.5 million to 12 million initially, with a future capacity of 15 million passengers through a new terminal.
• Key figures include KAA Managing Director Mohamud Gedi and President William Ruto's administration, which will finance the project.
• The modernization, set to be implemented in two phases, will also address airport workers' welfare and operational efficiency, bolstering Kenya's position as a regional aviation hub.
