The Social Health Authority (SHA) has approved eight foreign hospitals in India, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia for Kenyans seeking specialised overseas treatment under its care package, with the benefit set to commence next week.

• The initiative allows Kenyans to receive treatment at approved facilities abroad, including Manipal Hospitals and Acibadem Group.
• CEO Mercy Mwangangi announced the approved list and detailed the referral process, which requires a referral from a local recognised healthcare facility.
• Treatment authorisation will be granted by the SHA after verifying membership status, with claims capped at KSh 500,000 per case.
