Kenya has been officially removed from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) watchlist after successfully implementing comprehensive reforms to its anti-doping systems.
- Kenya's national anti-doping organization is now fully aligned with the WADA Code and international standards, as announced by ADAK chairperson Major General (Rtd) Aphaxard Muthuri Kiugu.
- Kenya was placed on the watchlist in late 2025 due to concerns about gaps in governance, testing protocols, and athlete whereabouts systems.
- The reforms implemented by the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) included strengthening governance, improving results management, and streamlining athlete whereabouts systems, with significant support from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports.
