The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a warning of continued heavy rainfall across much of the country until March 9, 2026, with potential for floods and reduced visibility.

• Heavy rainfall of more than 20mm in 24 hours is expected to persist in key regions like the Lake Victoria Basin, Western Kenya, and the Coastal region.
• The rains are anticipated to peak between March 4 and March 7.
• Residents are urged to remain vigilant for potential floods, flash floods, and to exercise caution regarding lightning strikes and driving through moving water.
