The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall across various regions of Kenya, expected to begin on February 21, with intensified downpours from February 22-24, 2026. This adverse weather is anticipated to cause significant disruption, particularly in areas prone to flooding.

The heavy rainfall is projected to intensify to more than 30mm in 24 hours on February 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2026.
Kenya Metrological Department is the primary organization involved, warning residents to avoid driving or walking in moving water.
Counties expected to be most affected include Nairobi, Migori, Nyamira, and the Coastal regions such as Mombasa and Kwale.
